Description: Best variety for canning and stock feeding. Also known as Big Tom. Yields many big, yellow-orange fruits weighing about 20 lbs. Hard, smooth skin is lightly ribbed. Great for Halloween carving because rounded fruits are flattened on both ends. Thick, sweet, fine-grained flesh is excellent for pies and canning. Grown by native Americans prior to the arrival of the Europeans. Flesh is thick, but a little watery compared to modern cooking varieties. 14" x 12"
